Richie Ashburn MacGregor-Goldsmith Split Finger
(NO LONGER AVAILABLE)
Vintage Baseball Glove/Mitt: (circa 1950) USA made MacGregor-GoldSmith G116 button-back split finger measures 9"x 10" and is endorsed by Hall-of-Famer Richie Ashburn, 1948 - '62 (facsimile signature on pinky side of pocket). The photos pretty much describe the glove’s condition and features. As for what you can’t see or might not notice: Leather feels soft, smooth and firm yet flexible. Well-padded thumb, heel, and pinky; no padding in pocket. No holes, rips, or tears inside or out; shows normal wear. Leather lining uncommonly soft and smooth - comfortable. All lacing vintage but may not be original. Rolled leather piping in good/very good condition; stitching and seams also. A previous owner etched his initials on side of wrist strap. Brass button with M/G logo engraved in red shows no tarnish. Solidly built late 40's/early 50's HOFer split finger is an attractive display, a pleasure to wear, and enjoyable to use. Has been cleaned and conditioned.
