Bill Rogell Denkert Split Finger
(NO LONGER AVAILABLE)
Vintage Baseball Glove/Mitt: (1930's) Denkert C2044 button-back split finger with "Greased Palm" measures 10"x 10" and is endorsed by Bill Rogell, 1925 -'40 (facsimile signature on side of heel). Rogell’s endorsement is listed as of above average value in the Bushing/Phillips Glove Price Guide. The photos pretty much describe the glove’s condition and features. As for what you can’t see or might not notice: Well-padded thumb, heel, and pinky; pocket and fingers lightly padded. Horsehide feels smooth and firm yet flexible. No holes, rips, or tears inside or out; overall soiling and creasing. Leather lining smooth and comfortable. All lacing appears to be original. Strap connecting index, middle, and ring fingers (apparently inspired by the Ken-Wel Dazzy Vance style of lacing) is solidly intact. Rolled canvas piping in fairly good condition; stitching and seams very good. Silver button shows slight pitting - little tarnish. No previous owner’s markings anywhere. Large 30's split finger displays well, feels good to wear, and is enjoyable to use. Has been cleaned and conditioned.
