Rare Cal Abrams Button-Back 3 Finger c1950
(NO LONGER AVAILABLE)
Vintage Baseball Glove/Mitt: (circa 1950) USA made Nokona 3F 8 "Professional Model" button-back 3 finger measures 8½"x 8½" and is endorsed by Cal Abrams, 1949 - '56 (facsimile signature on side of pocket). Abrams’ endorsement is listed as "Rare" and of well-above average value in the Bushing/Phillips Glove Price Guide. The photos pretty much describe the glove’s condition and features. As for what you can’t see or might not notice: Thickly padded thumb, heel, and pinky; fingers lightly padded; no padding in pocket. Genuine cowhide feels "Nokona-soft" and smooth; "floppy" flexible - easy to manipulate. No holes, rips, or tears inside or out; overall creasing; soiling on back. Leather lining chaffed and checked. Rolled leather piping mostly in good condition - slight damage below thumb. All lacing appears to be original. A previous owner’s "smudges" look more like soiling on "Ristankor" wrist strap. Silver button with raised 3 stars and wreath shows little tarnish. Deep, easy-to-read stampings. Nice, rare and valuable early 50's display glove. Has been cleaned and conditioned.
