Very Rare Lew Riggs Draper-Maynard Split Finger
(NO LONGER AVAILABLE)
Vintage Baseball Glove/Mitt: (1940's) Draper-Maynard DG31 button-back split finger with "H" web measures 9"x 10" and is endorsed by Lew Riggs, 1934 - '46 (strong facsimile signature on side of heel). Riggs’ endorsement is listed as "Very Rare" and of above average value in the Bushing/Phillips Glove Price Guide. The photos pretty much describe the glove’s condition and features. As for what you can’t see or might not notice: Thickly padded thumb, heel, and pinky; fingers lightly padded; little, if any, padding in pocket. Leather feels uncommonly soft, smooth, and firm yet flexible. No holes, rips, or tears inside or out; overall soiling and chaffing. Leather lining checked yet feels soft and smooth - comfortable. All lacing original. Rolled leather piping in good condition. A previous owner printed the letter "m" on back of pinky and his name on wrist strap (looks like soiling). Silver button shows little tarnish. Easy-to-read stampings. Large, valuable 40's D&M rarity displays well, feels comfortable to wear, and is enjoyable to use. Has been cleaned and conditioned.
