Vintage Baseball Glove/Mitt: (circa 1953) USA made Spalding 1335 Trapper measures 12" (along contour of pocket from hinge to web). No player endorsement. Uniformly padded leather feels "slippery-smooth" and very "newish" - not broken-in. No holes, rips, or tears inside or out; shows minimal wear - unused. Leather lining slightly chaffed in heel area, yet feels soft and smooth - comfortable; thumb and finger loop straps solid. Most lacing original; web has been relaced. Piping, stitching, seams, etc. all in excellent/near new condition. Lots of silver still remains in deep, easy-to-read stampings. No previous owner’s markings anywhere. Attractive early 50's trapper displays well and feels comfortable to wear. Trappers were introduced by Rawlings in 1940 and became more popular in the 50's. Unusual to find one in such excellent condition. Has been cleaned and conditioned.
